Falling: Angels Among Us by Linn B. Halton

Ceri thinks she sees angels… everywhere.
Love is a powerful emotion, but can it change the course of someone’s destiny?
This is a romance story that explores the possibility of there being something more than just the ‘here and now’.
Ceri’s journey has begun.

I love paranormal romances and I was very excited when HarperImpulse announced this as another of their titles. I cannot thank HarperImpulse enough for letting me review their wonderful titles!

Ceri has a unique ability that makes her see angels. However she does not see this ability as a gift and more of a hindrance. Her twin brother Seb seems to want to avoid the subject whenever she brings it up. Ceri records each incident whenever she encounters an angel which causes her to intervene with a stranger to try and make sense of it all. Ceri's life is complicated enough as it is, what with her advertising job and also having to deal with the paranormal, and because Seb does not want Ceri to talk about it, she does not feel she can tell Seb that she has a bad feeling about his fiancé.

I found myself quickly absorbed in this story and it was one of those books that each chapter leaves you wanting more. I instantly took to Ceri and felt like I could relate to her struggles, obviously mine are not angel related, but I thought she had exactly my way of thinking when she said she became a different person when she walked into the office, as I believe everyone does this as you have to leave your personal life at home.  I really liked her co-worker Alex. He sounded really lovely and a great friend until he's behaviour became weird and I couldn't understand his reasoning. This propelled me to read on to find out what the issue was and I was pleasantly surprised when the story shifted to his point of view. It's always great to get another characters perspective in a story.

There was one bit of the story that dragged a little for me and I thought perhaps at times I would have liked a bit more detail into the story development. But that said I read this very quickly and I love Linn's writing style, I think it's some of the best writing I have read as it draws you in so well. The ending was also brilliant and I am now extremely eager to find out what happens and immerse myself into Ceri's world again!
