REVIEW
I always get so excited when a debut author that I have loved releases their second book and Nuala Ellwood didn't disappoint.
When Maggie awakes from a coma, her world utterly implodes. It is your worst nightmare times a thousand, her daughter has died and her husband has disappeared without a trace. And not only that but Maggie has no recollection of what happened. She must find out the truth and also find out why she can't shake the suspicion that her daughter is still alive.
How Maggie managed to keep things as together as she did upon waking from her coma shows her strength of character and her sheer determination to find out exactly what happened that day. I couldn't stop thinking about what I would be doing in her shoes and how awful she must be feeling. She has so much that she is desperate to find out and my cogs were definitely whirring away trying to figure out exactly what had happened and whether Maggie's hunch was true.
I will just say that the first two thirds of the book were really good, but the final part felt a tad unbelievable and I was still left with a few questions. However I still enjoyed the story and as with fiction anything can happen!
Although Nuala's debut is still my favourite book of the two, Day of the Accident still kept me gripped throughout and I am eagerly anticipating what is to come next.
With unexpected twists and turns and that never ceasing feeling of tension, there is a lot that you just won't see coming.
