Blog Tour: Missing Pieces by Laura Pearson

This book ripped my heart out and sowed it back together again just like it did the characters. This is a book to leave you speechless and reeling from what you have just read.

I am going to attempt to put into some form of coherency just how incredible Missing Pieces was, but I won't be able to do it the same justice as the author's incredible writing.

You know something terrible has happened the moment you start reading Missing Pieces. There is a heaviness and huge sense of grief surrounding this family of characters. Linda's grief is the worst to bear, I felt it in my chest. The sadness seemed to leak off the pages.

Missing Pieces is about exploring a family's life after a tragedy and the all too real effects that it has. But it is also about piecing lives back together and learning to forgive yourself and those around you.

I have never understood character's emotions quite like those in Missing Pieces. Laura Pearson wrote so eloquently and beautifully, there is no way that this story won't reach you in some way. It's what make it so affecting as it is such a convincing tale of the aftermath of loss. I felt each character's pain like it was my own, like I had my own part to play in what happened. There was a sharp, raw clarity in each of the character's emotions, you feel them like they are your own emotions. You become a character in the story and the grief becomes your own.

I don't think Missing Pieces would have had quite the same affect it would have if it wasn't for Laura's writing. Every word has been chosen so carefully, so succinctly explained that I felt like I knew the very depths of the characters souls.

Although I did not cry reading this, that does not mean that I wasn't deeply affected. It's a story that could happen to anyone and Laura conveyed this so beautifully. My review will never do it justice.

One of the most beautiful and affecting stories I have ever read.
