Would first off like to say a big thank you to Sharon for sending me Landline to review as I was so gutted to be rejected by the publisher to review it on Netgalley. They said it was because they had had loads of requests and had to be more choosy than usual, but it still totally sucked. But anyway I get to read it now and it's brilliant so far!
I was absolutely thrilled to be one of the few chosen to receive a bound proof of part one of Harriet Evan's new novel A Place for Us. They are being released in four parts in ebook format and then the book will come out as a whole in January, so super excited as I love Harriet Evans. Another fab book I got asked if I was interested in reviewing was Daughter. It has a fantastic cover and the premise sounds amazing. Definitely check it out. I also bought Love Letters for the Dead as I have seen loads of people talking about how good it is on twitter so finally caved a bought a copy.
So those are my books for this weeks Showcase. Do let me know yours :)

Hi Laura, I have a digital version of A Place for Us courtesy of Netgalley. Love the look of Little Lies and The Witch of salt and storm.

Ha, you've got Manotti's Escape as well - I've received it this week and already read it (I've been waiting for it for a long time). Look forward to hearing what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteAs for being refused by Netgalley, I know exactly what you mean. I was turned down for a book I really wanted to read - and it wasn't a geographical problem - and felt so dejected and rejected: why me? But I suppose they have so many 'official reviewers' and famous bloggers that they want to reach first...
I was really lucky to get a copy of Landline via Twitter a while ago. Hope you enjoy. I got Love Letters to the Dead recently too.
ReplyDeleteI'm SO THRILLED you got Landline eventually, I was gutted for you when I read on twitter you hadn't been accepted, so I really hope you enjoy reading it! I've also heard AMAZING things about Daughter and I can't wait to hear what you think :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fab Sunday hun :)

And The Witch of Salt and Storm and Landline are some of my anticipated reads as well! Definitely going to be on the lookout for your review on them, and I'll cross my fingers you enjoy them! ;)

Landline! I was rejected too. But no worries my hardcover comes tomorrow. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think it's near impossible to love a RR book.
ReplyDeleteI have Love Letters to the Dead too. But who knows when I'll get to it.
You've definitely got a great looking haul there. Hope you enjoy them all!
Happy reading!

Your cover of Landline is so much more appealing to me than the one I've been seeing around.
ReplyDeleteI do much prefer this cover :)
DeleteGreat haul! Am very jealous you have The Sunrise: Victoria Hislop. You wait so long for a book by her and they are just stunning when they finally arrive :)
