Blog Tour for The Best Thing That Never Happened To Me

Today I am thrilled to be part of the blog tour for The Best Thing That Never Happened To Me by Laura Tait and Jimmy Rice.

You can follow the tour on the blog spots below:

Synopsis

Everyone remembers their first love.

Holly has learnt that life isn't about seizing the moment. She might have harboured dreams about travelling the world as a teenager, but she let go of those - just as she let go of Alex.

But what if the feelings never really went away?

Alex wants to make every moment of his new job count. It's a fresh start in a new city, and he knows that moving to London has nothing to do with Holly. Well, probably.
How do you know if it was meant to be. or never meant to happen at all?

Review

I LOVED this! It was absolutely brilliant and one of the best books that I have read so far this year! And also I adore the cover! So pretty!

I have never read a book written by two authors before and I can honestly say that it really worked. Both authors voices come through from the two main characters viewpoints, Holly and Alex and it gave the novel a uniqueness that I wasn't expecting. And it does it without you realising that it is another authors writing you are reading; it flows effortlessly.

Holly and Alex are two fantastic characters that I gelled with instantly. There were so many times when I was laughing and relating to exactly what they were saying, or crying yes that is exactly it. It depicted real life simple goings on, but making them more funny and actually more real. Just simple things like when you revisit primary school and it is so much more smaller than you saw it as a kid or why do people who are called Felicity shorten it to Flick? Just things like this that made the novel so relatable to true life. I think it was this that made me love this book so much. It does also has it's sad moments and this is where I felt closer to Holly. However I did get really involved in both Alex and Holly's lives and you are kept waiting and waiting (in a good way) to find out what will happen, but at the same time I didn't want it to end!

All the other secondary characters were great and unique in their own ways too. So many times did Jemma, Holly's workmate have me in fits with her bluntness and straight talking. Alex's mate Kev was also a laugh-out-loud character and absolutely awful in the ways of women!

I want to shout about this book from the roof tops, as no novel has made me laugh out loud this much and make me feel good whilst reading it in a long while! I really cannot wait to read more from Laura and Jimmy!
