Showcase Sunday #20

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vickie at Books Biscuits and Tea. The aim of this event is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. For more information about how this feature works and how to join in, click here.

I haven't had the best week this week due to being really ill, so was off work and found out from the doctor I have tonsillitis! Thankfully the antibiotics I am now on are working, as I have never had such a painful sore throat! It was awful, like I had razor blades in my throat! Anyway, now that I have shared that lovely information with you, I did actually get some nice books.

Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan (Purchased)
Half Bad by Sally Green (Purchased)
Keep Your Friends Close by Paula Day (Review Copy)
Beautiful Day by Kate Anthony (Review Copy)

WH Smith always have great offers, so when I saw that Jenny Colgan's latest book was half price, I just had to get it. I love the premise for it as well, it's about being brave enough to leave the rat race and doing what you want to do. I also liked as well how the back of synopsis of the book is written by Jenny herself, quite a rarity for published authors and it makes for a lovely change and I think this book may be close to Jenny's heart.
I HAD to get Half Bad! It's a book I have heard quite a lot of people talking about and I really can't wait to get stuck into this one!
Keep Your Friends Close by Paula Day sounds creepy- what do you do if your friend steals your life! I am part of the blog tour for this one, so look out for my stop on 30th March.
And finally Beautiful Day. I think the cover for this one is really pretty and it sounds brilliant too!

So some great books this week. What did you all receive/buy/borrow? Any of the above? Do let me know.

Have a great Sunday.
