Showcase Sunday #18

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vickie at Books Biscuits and Tea. The aim of this event is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. For more information about how this feature works and how to join in, click here.

So after not buying books for a while, I went a bit crazy this week. I was off work for a few days on annual leave so there was just too much temptation to go shopping and into lots of books shops!

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell (Purchased)
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch (Purchased)
The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer (Purchased)
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent (Purchased)
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green (Purchased)
Zenith Hotel by Oscar Coop-Phane (Review Copy)
Rules for Dating a Romantic Hero by Harriet Evans (Purchased)
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (Purchased)
Rags and Bones Edited by Melissa Marr and Tim Pratt (Review Copy)
Dust by Hugh Howey (Purchased)
The Whitehall Mandarin by Edward Wilson (Review Copy)

So yeah as you can see I went totally mad and I haven't even included some other books that I bought the other week. They were just all books that I had to buy like The Fault In Our Stars and Fangirl. I love the cover of Fangirl and The Best Thing That Never Happened To Me. I'm just really liking covers recently that are just really simple. It makes them stand out more. Burial Rites was the first book I saw when I walked into Waterstones and the blurb sounds brilliant, and it's one of those books that has coloured edges of the pages which I really like on books as it's another thing that makes them different. The Shock of The Fall was another must buy as well and I just had to get the other of Rainbow Rowell's books and I will be looking to buy her other novel Attachments soon, but I think I now better curb the book buying. I also had bought my Mum a couple of books. She said that I have really got her into reading recently which is great :)

Please let me know if you have read or heard of any of the above and I would love to know what you have bought/received or borrowed this week.

Have a great Sunday.

  1. I LOVE The Fault In Our Stars so much, I honestly believe it's one of the best YA books ever written.

I've also heard fantastic things about Fangirl, I hope you'll love it. I received Rainbow Rowell's new novel (Landline) this week and I can't wait to start reading it.

I agree with you on the cover on The Best Thing That Never Happened to Me - it's stunning.

And I read The Shock of the Fall last week and it's beautiful <3

I hope you enjoy all your new reads :) x
