What's a Girl to Do? Indecent Proposals #1 by Aimee Duffy

'Im not coming over.’ Shey replied confidently.
‘Then maybe you could return the favor now.’
Wait, he didn’t mean…
‘Slide your hand beneath your panties and tell me how ready you are for me.’
Oh my god, he did.

Single Manhattanite Shey Lopez doesn’t do one night stands, or have relationships she can’t control. Especially if giving in to playboy Calvin Jones means losing her heart in the process.

However, Mr Won’t-Take-No-For-An-Answer always gets what he wants and there’s only so many times a girl can resist such an enticing proposal…

I was looking for a shorter read this week, as just wanted something light and quick and this novella definitely met those needs!

Shey works as assistant editor at Storm Magazine, with a boss she would rather do without. Shey has a horrible Mother; constantly made to feel unwanted, she is terrified of getting pregnant. Her Mum has drummed it into her that her life will be ruined if she ever gets pregnant as Shey ruined her life for her. No one night stands for Shey! Calvin on the other hand does not like commitment! Screwed over by his ex-wife, Calvin swears never to trust a woman again.

But when Shey and Calvin's eyes meet across the lobby, they both know they want each other. But just for sex, they don't want it to be anything else. Shey knows she is falling for Calvin hard, but she doesn't ever want to let a man to hurt her, and Calvin doesn't want a woman to ruin him again. But something more is happening to them and they each can't stop what they are both beginning to feel. Can it really be just sex between them?

There were some extremely steamy scenes in this that slightly threw me, but in a good way! It wasn't just about the sex either. Shey and Calvin's characters have depth to them so that there was a great story surrounding the steamy scenes.

Calvin is also extremely hot, and it's completely understandable that Shey just can't resist him. There was great depth to his character that I wasn't expecting and he's quite complex.

I really liked Shey as well. At first I found her worries about getting pregnant a bit over the top, but as I got to know her character and her Mum, I could definitely understand them. Shey however knows what she wants and I liked how she put Calvin in his place at times!

If you are looking for a quick erotic read, I definitely recommend this, as it gives you everything you could possibly want from a novella like this.

I am also excited that there are two more in the series! So I cannot wait to read those!
