Blog Tour: A Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke

This was a blog tour I was incredibly excited to be a part of and share my review with you. A Shiver of Snow and Sky is one of those books that you just have to read and I share more in my review below.

REVIEW

A Shiver of Snow and Sky has been one of my most highly anticipated books of the year and when I finally cracked open my copy, I was in for more of a treat than I could have realised.

Set on the Island of Skane, it's inhabitants are ruled by the Goddess- the ruler of the skies and the lights within them. When the lights are green, all is fine, when blue, a storm is coming, but when they are red... red is rare, red means danger is coming.

It has been seventeen years since the lights last turned red and Osa was only a baby. A plague came that took the lives of many, including Osa's Mother. Her whole life her Father and sister have blamed her for her death. She simply wants their forgiveness for something she could not control. When the lights turn red again in Osa's life, she cannot let her people suffer yet again. She must find the Goddess and ask for her help, but it involves a perilous journey to the mountains where those that have gone before have not returned. Osa's knows this is the only way to help her people and with no one to accompany her, she makes it her mission to make it to the Goddess.

A Shiver of Snow and Sky was so beautifully written, it captured the very essence of the world it was set in. It was actually breathtaking and I felt utterly transported to Osa's world and with her on her journey to the Goddess.

Although this took me a few chapters to get into the rhythm of the story, once it captured my imagination it did not let me go. It was also one of those books that is an absolute treat to read in those colder months as you fully appreciate the setting of the book.

I loved dipping in and out of Osa's world, there was just something about it that drew me in again and again. It was so original, full of mystery, magic and adventure that how could I possibly not love it.
A Shiver of Snow and Sky quickly became one of those books that I really didn't want to end and was disappointed when it did. I really hope Lisa takes us back to Island of Skane in another novel.

A Shiver of Snow and Sky is out now
