I am delighted to be on the blog tour for Blood Sisters by Jane Corry today. This was a brilliant psychological thriller from Jane. Full review below.

BOOK REVIEW

When I use the word gripping to decide a book, I don't use it lightly and Blood Sisters was absolutely brilliant. It is one of those books that keeps your interest throughout and I really looked forward to getting back to it after work.

Three girls set off for school one morning and within the hour, one of them is dead, one brain damaged and the other ridden with guilt, but what exactly did happen that day...

Jane Corey knows how to constantly keep her readers in suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed the dual narrative between our two main characters, Alison and Kitty. Kitty's narrative especially was fascinating as she is brain damaged on the outside but more aware of things than we think. It was so believable and her thoughts that came pouring out onto the pages really packed a punch with me. It is also dealt with sensitively and respectfully which is why I thought it was so convincing.  Kitty always gets so close to figuring out what happened all those years ago., but just as she reaches it, the memory goes.

We know that Alison on the other hand is hiding something. She feels a huge sense of guilt from the accident, but we are never quite sure just what role she played. There is always that sense of unease around her and I was never quite sure whether I was on her side or not.

What I loved most about this was the amount of curveballs to the story thrown in at such unexpected moments! Blood Sisters will definitely keep you on your toes and it's a story that will suck you in straightaway.

A highly engrossing psychological thriller. I was gripped all the way through.
